Weighted Accord – Fine Art Print

Description

This work is built around compression and balance. Overlapping circular forms press into one another, their edges softened by abrasion, cracking, and layered paint that shows clear evidence of handling and revision. The surface feels compacted rather than expansive, as if each element has settled into place through gradual pressure rather than force.

Muted blues and greys establish a steady ground, interrupted by ochre and rust tones that introduce warmth without destabilising the composition. A restrained red mark bleeds downward at the left edge, subtle but deliberate, suggesting strain rather than rupture. Fine metallic wires trace across and between the forms, acting as connective lines that bind the structure together. They read less as gesture and more as restraint — holding the elements in alignment.

There is a strong sense of resolution here. The composition feels negotiated rather than imposed, with each form carrying weight and consequence. Nothing feels decorative or incidental. This is a work concerned with agreement under pressure — a state of balance reached through tension, not ease.
