Description

This work is built from rigid vertical structures interrupted by a heavy, suspended arc that cuts across the surface under visible strain. Red pillars stand as load-bearing elements, compressed between scraped greys, off-whites, and darker fields that show clear signs of abrasion and revision. The surface feels constructed, stressed, and held in place rather than resolved.

The long black curve introduces tension rather than movement. It hangs across the composition like a weighted span, pulling against the verticals and forcing the geometry to bend without collapse. Lines remain sharp but unsettled; seams, scratches, and dragged edges prevent the structure from appearing clean or complete.

Process remains fully exposed. Layers are built up, scraped back, and partially reasserted, leaving a record of adjustment and resistance. The surface carries a flinty austerity — architectural but bruised — where balance is maintained through pressure rather than harmony. This is a structure that endures without ever fully relaxing.
