Stillness Is Not Surrender is constructed through restraint, erasure, and held pressure. The surface is layered and worked, but deliberately subdued—scraped planes, dragged pigment, and softened edges leave only the residue of gesture behind. Marks do not assert themselves; they settle, flatten, and remain.

Botanical forms rise through the field without flourish. Their stems and leaves appear pressed into the surface rather than placed upon it, as if recorded after growth rather than celebrated during it. Gold appears sparingly, not as embellishment, but as interruption—small traces that catch against the muted ground and then recede again.

The palette is cool and weathered, built from greys, pale stone tones, and softened neutrals that refuse drama. Space plays an equal role to form. Large areas remain unresolved, allowing silence to carry weight rather than emptiness. Nothing here asks for attention; it holds it through control.

This is not a work about fragility. The stillness is deliberate, sustained, and uncompromising. What endures here is not motion or repair, but composure under pressure—a refusal to yield disguised as quiet.
