Description

This work is constructed in layers. The central bloom is not brushed into place but built petal by petal, each curve stacked and slightly offset. The edges are crisp and deliberate. The flower rises from the surface with dimensional authority, its form defined by repetition and controlled depth rather than softness.

Gold leaves flank the composition like structural brackets. They are not decorative accents; they reinforce the framework of the arrangement. Their metallic surfaces mark the points of tension between organic form and constructed space.

A secondary bloom in muted grey introduces weight and contrast. Its darker centre stabilises the composition and prevents the ivory from drifting into fragility. Fine stems and seed heads extend outward in thin, deliberate lines, providing counterbalance to the layered mass of the central rose.

The background is treated in restrained washes of pale blue, sand, and faint blush tones. These areas are not smoothed into perfection. Subtle drips and tonal shifts remain visible, allowing the history of the surface to show through. The composition holds a balance between structured build and atmospheric ground.

“Ivory Dominion” presents the floral form as architectural rather than delicate. The petals are assembled, the leaves positioned with intent, and the space around them remains active but contained. It is a study in layered construction, where organic subject matter is handled with deliberate control.
