Force Held in the Turn – Fine Art Print

Description

This work is defined by thick, spiralling forms pressed into the surface with visible resistance. Layered ridges coil inward and outward, leaving pronounced edges, compressed bands, and uneven transitions that record force rather than fluidity. The surface reads as carved and worked, with each turn carrying weight and friction.

Sweeping bands of colour intersect and collide, creating areas where movement is redirected rather than released. The spirals do not flow freely; they tighten, thicken, and push back against themselves. Subtle abrasions, scuffed passages, and irregular edges prevent the composition from resolving into ornament, keeping the energy contained and grounded.

Process remains exposed throughout. Layers are built, dragged, and compacted, leaving the history of pressure visible in the ridged surface. The result is controlled intensity rather than ease — a composition shaped by insistence and restraint, where motion is held under tension instead of allowed to dissipate.
