Driven Through Fracture – Fine Art Print

Description

This work is built from sharp, fractured forms pressed into an unstable arrangement. Angular planes appear cut, folded, and forced into contact, their edges scraped and uneven, carrying visible signs of abrasion and resistance. The surface is marked by tension rather than flow, with shapes colliding instead of aligning.

A dark, segmented form runs through the composition like a compressed spine, binding the surrounding elements while also disrupting them. It does not unify the surface; it strains it. Colour is applied with intent but without refinement — mustard yellows, deep reds, blues, and muted violets push against one another, constrained by hard edges and abrupt directional shifts.

The pale ground offers no softness. It reads as worked and unsettled, allowing the scars of process to remain visible rather than concealed. Every shape retains its weight and independence, contributing to a sense of pressure held just short of collapse.

Order is suggested through repetition and structure, yet repeatedly undermined by fracture and interruption. The composition resists harmony, operating instead in a state of persistent strain. The process is left exposed, with no attempt to smooth transitions or disguise revision. What remains is a surface shaped by force, insistence, and refusal to resolve.
