Description

This work is built around weight, resistance, and balance. Thick, layered surfaces carry visible marks of pressure and revision — areas where material has been pushed, held, and allowed to settle. The paint is not smoothed away or disguised; its density and drag remain present, giving the surface a sense of physical strain.

Geometric blocks and curved forms are locked together in a state of controlled opposition. Hard verticals and horizontals resist the sweep of the arcs, creating a composition that feels braced rather than fluid. Nothing here drifts freely. Each element acts as a counterforce to another, holding the structure in place through tension rather than harmony.

The palette reinforces this sense of load-bearing balance. Deep reds and blacks carry visual weight, while the pale forms act as compression points — not lightness, but resistance. The work feels measured and deliberate, with every form placed to absorb or redirect pressure.

The process is left exposed. Edges are imperfect, surfaces are scored and worn, and the history of making remains visible. This is not a polished object; it is a record of adjustment, resistance, and decision.
