Description

This work is constructed through layered planes, restrained colour, and deliberate pacing. Broad fields of grey and off-white are worked and scraped, leaving subtle ridges and interruptions that expose the process without becoming disruptive. The surface remains active, but controlled.

Structural forms dominate the composition. White sections act as stabilising masses, anchoring the eye and creating areas of visual rest. These are counterbalanced by darker grey passages that recede and support, allowing the composition to breathe without collapsing into flatness.

Fine gold lines move through the surface as seams rather than decoration. They trace joins, repairs, and moments of tension, suggesting alignment achieved through adjustment rather than perfection. Their irregularity reinforces the sense of a structure maintained over time.

Muted blue accents appear sparingly, introducing quiet movement without breaking the overall composure. These interruptions prevent sterility while preserving balance, ensuring the work remains engaging without becoming visually demanding.

The piece avoids drama and spectacle. Instead, it sustains a steady, composed presence, favouring clarity, restraint, and material honesty. Every element appears measured, with no excess gesture or unnecessary emphasis.
