Carried Through the Grid – Fine Art Print

Description

A solitary figure moves across a fractured grid, its surface scored with scratches, smears, and erasures that refuse to settle into polish. The body is built from scraped blacks and bruised reds, its edges roughened and unstable, as if repeatedly redrawn and partially worn away. Nothing here is smoothed or corrected; the marks remain exposed, carrying the residue of hesitation, pressure, and revision.

The grid behind the figure is rigid but imperfect — tiled blocks of chalked white, muted blue, and weathered red that feel battered rather than orderly. Lines misalign, surfaces scuff and fracture, and the structure reads less as support than resistance. The figure does not conform to it; instead, it leans through it, carried forward under strain rather than intention.

Process is left visible throughout. Scraped textures, thin washes, and rough overlays record decisions as they happened, without disguise. The work holds a quiet tension between movement and containment — a body advancing through a system that never fully accepts it, yet never completely erases it either.

This is not an image seeking balance or resolution. It stands in the unresolved space between endurance and erosion, where presence is maintained through friction rather than harmony.
