Description

The surface is constructed through layered curves and controlled intersections, built from laminated colour fields and restrained linear constraints. Forms are not gestural or improvised; they are routed, reinforced, and held in alignment. The marks suggest movement under control rather than release, with each arc carrying visible intention and resistance.

Sweeping blue and gold structures dominate the composition, their edges clean yet not polished, bearing subtle abrasion and evidence of reworking. These forms feel bound together rather than freely moving, as though motion has been channelled through a predefined path. Gold operates as a structural binder, stitching the movement together and preventing fracture or collapse.

Vertical lines descend through the composition as guides rather than barriers. They narrow the available space, forcing the curved forms to pass through tensioned intervals. The result is a sense of trajectory shaped by constraint — movement that persists because it has learned where it must pass, not where it wants to roam.

The background remains active but subordinate. Clouded tones, scuffs, and fine surface disruptions sit beneath the main structure, recording earlier decisions without demanding attention. Nothing here feels accidental. The process is visible, but disciplined, revealing a system that holds coherence under pressure rather than surrendering to chaos.

This work does not dramatise motion. It records controlled momentum — a trajectory bound by structure, sustained through restraint.
