Description

This work is built from layered planes, scored surfaces, and exposed joins that reveal the structure beneath the image. Cracked textures, matte fields, and fractured circular forms sit alongside rigid verticals, creating a surface that feels constructed rather than composed. Nothing is smoothed over; the evidence of process remains visible throughout.

Fine wire lines trace and restrain the composition, looping across the surface like drawn tensions rather than decoration. These lines do not wander freely—they are held in place by the geometry, pulled taut against the underlying structure. The result is a surface that feels under pressure but controlled, as though each element is resisting collapse.

Muted greys, slate blues, and chalked neutrals form a restrained ground, interrupted by restrained but deliberate accents of gold and rusted orange. These moments do not soften the composition; instead, they act as stress points—markers of imbalance within an otherwise ordered framework.

Axis of Containment explores the balance between discipline and fracture. The composition suggests a system designed to hold, align, and stabilise, even as the surface shows signs of strain. It is work that does not seek harmony, but containment—holding opposing forces in place without resolving them.
