Anchor Shift – Fine Art Print

Description

This work is built from weight and interruption. Thick planes of pigment sit forward from the surface, while darker fields and fractured grounds press back, creating a constant negotiation between stability and displacement. The surface carries visible stress: scraped edges, scored lines, and uneven layers that refuse to settle into a single, resolved state.

The red and white blocks function as physical anchors, but they are not fixed. They feel placed, tested, and adjusted—held in position only through tension. Surrounding fields of ochre, charcoal, and grey are battered and weathered, marked by drag lines, abrasions, and ruptures that suggest repeated revision rather than a single decisive gesture.

Linear elements cut across the composition without fully aligning. They divide space, but imperfectly, as if measured and then deliberately disrupted. The geometry is present but fractured; order exists, yet it is constantly undermined by surface damage and imbalance.

Nothing here is smoothed or concealed. Every layer records a decision. The work holds its structure by resisting refinement, allowing raw edges, uneven pressure, and visible corrections to remain exposed. The result is a composition that feels grounded yet unsettled—an object suspended between control and erosion.

This is not a decorative surface. It is a marked one. The shifts are deliberate, the scars retained.
