Description

This work presents a scored and weathered surface fractured by visible stress lines and hairline cracks that run across the entire field. The ground appears scraped, layered, and deliberately distressed, exposing the evidence of process rather than concealing it. Gold veins thread through these ruptures like structural reinforcements, not as embellishment, but as deliberate joins — holding tension rather than hiding damage.

Over this fractured foundation, geometric forms are imposed with precision: arcs, triangular planes, intersecting grids, and suspended discs. The composition balances engineered structure against a restless, battered surface. Lines cross and refuse to fully settle. Colour blocks in mustard, teal, crimson, cobalt, and violet push against one another, creating a controlled friction that feels both deliberate and unresolved.

The surface carries the weight of revision. Every scored line and cracked layer reads as a decision retained. Nothing is smoothed over. The history of making remains visible in the fractures and joins, creating a dialogue between order and strain — geometry under pressure.

This is not a composition seeking polish. It accepts stress as part of its architecture. The gold does not soften the rupture; it records it. The result is a structured yet unsettled field where tension becomes the organising force rather than the flaw.
