Description

This work is organised around a pronounced rupture that splits the surface into opposing fields. Layered colour bands appear scraped back and rebuilt, revealing fractures, exposed seams, and irregular transitions. The central divide reads as a fault line rather than a graphic device — torn, metallic, and uneven, carrying the weight of pressure and separation.

Warm, mineral tones press in from one side while cooler blues and greys resist from the other. These opposing zones do not blend smoothly; they collide, overlap, and pull apart, leaving visible abrasions and compressed edges. Metallic passages sit embedded within the layers, reinforcing the sense of exposed material rather than surface decoration.

The process remains clearly visible. Washes settle and are disrupted, lines crack and re-emerge, and textures accumulate unevenly. The surface feels weathered and flinty, shaped by force and revision rather than flow. This is not a harmonious landscape, but a record of stress, division, and persistence held in place.
