Strange Seeing – Fine Art Print

Description

The surface is assembled through intersecting planes and curved segments that slide and overlap without strict symmetry. Forms are defined, but not rigidly enforced, allowing the composition to retain an instinctive, assembled quality rather than a designed one. The structure feels discovered in motion, guided by impulse and then held in place.

A central eye-like form emerges as a consequence of the geometry rather than a symbolic declaration. It is contained by surrounding arcs and angled planes that compress inward, creating a sense of inward attention rather than outward gaze. The interior light is muted and enclosed, suggesting perception that is internal, quiet, and unresolved.

Colour is restrained and layered with care. Pale blues, chalked creams, soft greys, and muted blush tones are worked back and reintroduced, leaving traces of revision visible across the surface. Abrasion is light and controlled; the work avoids distress or aggression, favouring subtle adjustment over force.

Line work is confident but not dominant. Edges intersect, withdraw, and reassert themselves, recording decisions made quickly and left intact. The process remains visible without being emphasised. Nothing is overexplained or resolved.

This work holds a calm, instinctive balance. It does not seek tension or narrative clarity. It documents a moment of perception assembled without hesitation — a way of seeing that is slightly off-centre, inward, and quietly complete.
