Held Within the Perimeter – Fine Art Print

Description

This work is organised around containment that no longer holds cleanly. A broad circular perimeter encloses the composition, its surface cracked, scuffed, and uneven, carrying signs of fatigue rather than authority. The ring suggests order, but its compromised edge allows movement to slip through, undermining any sense of closure or stability.

Within this boundary, circular forms accumulate with differing weights and conditions. The largest disc is fractured and weathered, its surface split and stressed, bearing the marks of pressure and time. Smaller circles orbit without symmetry, their placement measured but unsettled, contributing scale and pacing rather than hierarchy. None of the forms resolve into a fixed system.

Thin lines drift across and beyond the perimeter, ignoring its limits. They feel provisional, as if tested and abandoned, tracing routes that resist containment. Beneath everything, layered panels and muted planes stack unevenly, their surfaces worn and adjusted through repeated revision. The structure reads as accumulated rather than designed.

Process remains fully visible. Cracks, abrasions, and surface breaks are left intact, recording decisions without correction. The work holds tension through calibrated imbalance, maintaining coherence not through control, but through endurance. What remains is a composition sustained by pressure and persistence rather than order or symmetry.
