Description

This work is built from fractured surfaces and exposed layers, where scraped whites, weathered blues, and muted ochres carry the marks of repeated revision. Cracked textures, scuffed planes, and uneven fields reveal a process that has been left deliberately visible rather than resolved or polished. The surface reads as worn and worked, bearing the residue of decisions rather than hiding them.

The composition is divided into rigid sections that confine the central figure. The face emerges from within these partitions, not as a portrait but as a presence caught between structure and erosion. Thin black lines cut across the surface like interruptions—marks that refuse to settle or explain themselves. They fracture the space further, reinforcing the sense of containment and instability.

There is a tension here between human form and architectural order. The geometry attempts to impose control, yet the textures push back, creating a quiet struggle between restraint and fracture. The figure appears suspended inside these boundaries, neither fully enclosed nor free, suggesting observation under constraint rather than expression.

Nothing in the work seeks harmony. The surfaces are flinty and unresolved, and the marks retain their rawness. This is a piece that documents pressure, division, and endurance—an image shaped by containment rather than comfort.
