Confluence Under Tension – Fine Art Print

Description

This work presents a densely layered surface marked by fractures, scored arcs, and visible disruptions that refuse visual calm. Circular forms collide and overlap, their boundaries scraped, etched, and partially broken, revealing the history of pressure and revision beneath the surface. Cracked textures and uneven layers expose the process rather than conceal it, allowing the material struggle to remain present.

Colour is used as a force rather than a finish. Muted greys and off-whites form a stark ground, while saturated yellows, blues, pinks, and ochres push forward unevenly, sometimes constrained, sometimes rupturing their boundaries. Black linear arcs cut through the composition, restless and unresolved, imposing structure while simultaneously destabilising it.

The surface carries a sense of controlled chaos. Order is suggested through repetition and circular geometry, yet repeatedly undermined by fractures, scuffs, and interruptions. Areas of raw white break through like exposed substrate, reinforcing the physicality of the work and preventing any sense of polish or completion.

This is a composition that does not aim for harmony. It operates in a state of tension — between containment and release, geometry and damage, colour and abrasion. Every mark remains visible, every disruption intact, forming a record of decisions that have not been smoothed away.
