Torsion Field – Fine Art Print

Description

Torsion Field is a surface-driven abstract built from pressure, resistance, and controlled force. The work is physically marked and visibly worked—layers are scraped, compressed, and reasserted rather than blended away. Nothing here is softened for ease. The surface carries its own history.

Structured blocks form a rigid framework, scored and weathered through repeated intervention. Against this architecture, rotational forms cut inward, introducing torque and directional strain. The spiral movement is not decorative; it appears carved out of resistance, shaped by friction rather than flow. The geometry holds, but it does so under stress.

Colour is applied with weight and abrasion. Ochres, rusted oranges, and deep blues feel worn rather than painted, as though exposed to time or impact. The palette reinforces the sense of material endurance—pigment behaves like substance, not coating.

The process remains deliberately exposed. Edges are fractured, boundaries disrupted, and corrections left visible. Lines refuse to settle cleanly, creating a tension between stability and drift. The work does not resolve into harmony; it holds its form through pressure.

This is not an image designed for comfort or ornament. It asks the viewer to read force, resistance, and motion embedded in structure—an abstract record of energy held just short of release.
