Description

Held in the Current brings figurative presence into a layered abstract field without breaking structural discipline. Flowing bands of colour and texture move laterally across the surface, carrying a softly rendered face that appears embedded within the motion rather than placed upon it.

Warm ochres and reds are counterbalanced by cool blues and deep charcoal tones, creating a visual rhythm that feels continuous and contained. Panel divisions introduce a measured interruption, reinforcing control and preventing the composition from becoming purely expressive.

The work operates as a study of containment — how movement can surround, support, and hold form without dissolving it. The figure remains calm, suspended within the flow rather than overtaken by it.
