Description

Counterweight Assembly is a modern abstract composition built around balance achieved through counteraction rather than symmetry. A central circular form acts as a stabilising force within the composition, its metallic surface suggesting weight, containment, and controlled pressure. Surrounding geometric elements respond to this centre, creating a system of visual tension held in equilibrium.

Rectilinear forms and linear divisions introduce a sense of structure and measured intent, while suspended textured fragments beneath the horizontal plane introduce gravity, time, and consequence. These elements prevent the work from becoming purely formal, grounding it in a sense of use, adjustment, and wear.

The palette remains deliberately restrained, allowing material presence and spatial relationships to take precedence over colour dominance. The composition does not seek resolution through harmony alone, but through balance maintained under load.
